01 / Background

About me

I'm a full-stack developer in Vienna. At FireStart I own the technical architecture of a cloud-native SaaS platform used by more than 10,000 people, and for six months I ran the frontend team as their line manager.

Most of my work is system design. The backend is Go, speaking gRPC and GraphQL, running on Kubernetes over PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and it ships through GitOps pipelines I set up with ArgoCD and FluxCD.

I've maintained the open-source STAM library for over five years. I use LLM-backed tooling every day, and I've built LLM features into the product itself.

02 / Where I've worked

Experience

  1. Full Stack Developer / Frontend Lead Developer

    Since 04/2023

    FireStart · Vienna

    • Ran the frontend team for about six months: line management and performance reviews, code reviews, sprint planning, 1:1s, technical decisions, and onboarding and mentoring new colleagues.
    • Own the platform architecture from concept to implementation, for a system with more than 10,000 users. Go, gRPC, GraphQL, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
    • Built the platform from scratch: a no-code/low-code workflow engine for business process modeling (BPMN 2.0), with its own form modeller.
    • Led the migration of core infrastructure off a US hyperscaler, which cut hosting costs and improved data governance and GDPR compliance.
    • Introduced GitOps CI/CD with ArgoCD and FluxCD, and set up a structured dev/staging/production promotion workflow.
    • Use AI tooling daily in development, and integrated LLM-backed features into the production platform.

An open-source JavaScript library that draws OGC SensorThings API data onto Leaflet and OpenLayers maps. It started during an internship and I've maintained it for over five years.

A computer-vision system that measures the distance between people in photos and video, built with PyTorch and Vue.js for my diploma thesis with the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. A Python FastAPI backend serves the model over REST.
